Parenting Note #726: Going Through The Emotions

parenting note #726

I’m binge listening to soft rock of the 1970s, usually in the morning.

Yacht Rock to be more specific.

I don’t love the songs, but I don’t hate them either. They just remind me of being a kid, stuck in the backseat of my dad’s Caddy, going somewhere I probably didn’t want to go.

Back when it felt like anything in life was possible, and nothing could ever really be that bad.

Ah, to once again be the oblivious and naive child.

Except, I don’t think our kids are oblivious or naive. They’ve dealt with a ton of heavy shit in a short life.

I don’t know what our kids are going to do to cope as adults.

Maybe they won’t need to cope because nothing will feel that awful thanks to everything they lived through as children.

Anyway, I don’t have anything funny or profound to say this week so maybe just watch this video.
