Parenting Note #771 – Habits

Parenting Note #771

Do you have weird information that sticks in your head for no good reason? I do.

This little nugget involves dishes and dishwashers.

While buying a dishwasher, the salesmen told me, and either my parents or ex-wife, I don’t remember who else was around for this random life moment, to never rinse off the dishes before putting them into the dishwasher.

He explained that the high-powered dishwasher is trying to wash away food and stains. If you take away the food, the dishwasher is really going to work on your dishes, and they won’t last as long.

I tried following Mr. Sales Fella’s tip for a few weeks until I got tired of smelling the dirty dishes in the dishwasher that sit there for a week because the dishwasher isn’t full of enough dishes, utensils, and cups to run.

I still clean off the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher because fuck those plates and screw that guy. He probably just wanted the drain inside the dishwasher to jam quicker so it would break, and he could sell me another dishwasher. I’m onto your game, Louis!

(His name wasn’t Louis.)

I hope this blog sticks in your head the way that dishwashing tip sticks in my head.

STUFF I DID ON INSTAGRAM THAT YOU PROBABLY MISSED

STUFF I DID THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH STICKY NOTES

Last week on We Run This, I interviewed the Israeli National Champion in the marathon and half marathon, Beatie Deutsch.

Beatie took up running just five years ago and recently went pro intending to qualify for Tokyo 2020 and represent Israel in the Olympics.

More than anything else, her journey has empowered her to dream big and keep pushing, a message Beatie is passionate about sharing with other women.

As a mother of five young kids, she has learned to apply her training to the real marathon of life.

OTHER STUFF I WANT TO TELL YOU ABOUT

WHAT I’M READING: You Are a Badass at Making Money: Master the Mindset of Wealth

Get this book. Read it. Read it again. I love Jen’s writing, and she’s coming from a place of experience. She admits numerous times she was BROKE AF and until she started manifesting good fortune and stopped being scared of money. Then her life completely changed.

Thanks, everyone.

Have a great week, and be kind to one another.
